EGS - Maps & Geographical Information Resources
EGS - Maps & Geographical Information Resources for Genealogy Research in the Special Collections and Map Collections of the University of Washington
On June 8, 2006, the Eastside Genealogical Society presented: Maps & Geographical Information Resources for Genealogy Research in the Special Collections and Map Collections of the University of Washington. The presentation was given by Carla Rickerson, Head Special Collections, and Anne Zald, Head Map Collection and held at the Bellevue Regional Library, Bellevue, WA.
What really set this presentation apart, aside from the wonderful collections and their genealogical significance, was the use of technology in the presentation. Anne Zald created a website specifically for the lecture and included links to all of the information discussed. The Society members went home with a URL containing all the information presented, easily accessed after the meeting, without having to take a single note.
It was a brilliant idea. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a resource like this for every lecture we attend?
WSGS would like to thank Anne Zald for giving her permission to share this resource with our members, EGS Program Website.
