Digital Genealogist - New Online Magazine
Yes, another magazine, but this one won't take up any space on your desk!
Digital Genealogist is a new periodical edited by Elizabeth Kelley Kerstens, CG, CGL. Liz edited Genealogical Computing for nearly seven years, until its demise following the July/August/September 2006 issue. She is also the creator of the software program Clooz—the electronic filing cabinet for genealogical records, and co-creator of the software program GeneWeaver for your family health history.
Those familiar with Genealogical Computing, a former Ancestry.com publication, will recognize some of the authors and columnists that wrote for GC writing for the new Digital Genealogist. I enjoyed Genealogical Computing, as a Mac User, I looked forward to the Mac specific articles.
The magazine will focus on the use of technology in genealogy and all its various applications. Liz plans to continue bringing the latest news and techniques for combining genealogy and technology. Here's hoping they continue those Mac specific articles.
The first issue is scheduled to be sent out in November 2006. The magazine will be sent via e-mail as a PDF, which will require subscribers to have Adobe Reader on their computers. Subscriptions are $20 a year. Digital Genealogist will accept payment through PayPal.
