Washington Past Sheriffs

Was one of your ancestors a Sheriff or Marshall? Mine was, and I have found a very interesting website called Sheriffs of the Past. The directory is listed by state and contains lists of former sheriffs along with photographs, biographies, county jail histories, county sheriff office's histories and other documents dating back as far as the 1600's.

Eastern District of Washington U.S. Marshals History
Lists all U.S. Marshals of Washington Territory, District of Washington and the Eastern District of Washington from 1853 to present day.
