Washington Genealogical Events Calendar
I have added a Washington Genealogical Events Calendar to this blog. All the listings for future genealogy conferences, association meetings, and events of interest to genealogists are available here in an online database. The link is located in the sidebar to the right under Region II Links, Washington Genealogical Events Calendar.
In the calendar you will see a list of all the future events that have been posted to the database. There will be one line per event, showing the date, time, event name, and location. This listing makes it easy for you to scan all events listed in chronological order. For more information, simply click on an event's name to see the details. I have included a link to the event's web site (where available) with even more details.
The calendar offers several features:
1. You can automatically add events to your computer calendar without copying-and-pasting. Calendars supported include:
* Yahoo Calendar
* Trumba Calendar
* Microsoft Office Outlook Calendar
* Hotmail Calendar
* Apple iCal
* Google Calendar
2. You can be notified by email of the event, and any changes that occur to those calendar events.
3. You can email a message containing the event information to a friend who may be interested.
4. You can have an email reminder automatically sent to you in advance of the event. You can specifiy the time from 5 hours to 4 weeks in advance.
5. You can send a text message containing the event information listed to the mobile phone whose number and wireless carrier you specify.
6. You can easily print a list of all the events by clicking on the Print link above and to the right of the calendar. The calendar is then converted to a file without graphics for fast and efficient printing.
